Let's be honest, an engagement gift, a bridal shower gift, and a wedding gift can add up fast. Here's an easy, cheap, D.I.Y. gift idea so you can save up to go big on the other gift!
Everything I needed I either had already, or bought it at Michael's. Both the big & small hearts are from Michael's, and they were both plain wood, sold individually.
I picked this background color because I thought pink would be too girly to hang in the couple's home, and this made me think "Tiffany's blue".
The small heart was painted with black chalkboard paint and hot-glued on.
I lightly wrote out my phrase in pencil & then went over it with acrylic white paint. I included a piece of chalk with the gift so they could use it as a countdown. The black ribbon was hot glued to the back, & double-knotted in the ribbon so they could hang it on a wall if they so pleased.
Make it your own!
Pick whatever colors best match the receiving couple's mood/home/selves.
Use a stencil or paint pen for a more immaculate look.
For best chalkboard results, make sure wood is sanded smooth.
If the base heart is 3D, be sure to paint all the way around.
Don't forget to include chalk so they can actually use it!
Comment if you try it & let me know how it went!
<$5 with supplies I had already
~$20 if you had to buy everything new
